Both BJP and Cong are only interested in personal gains

God bless you if what you say happens. AAP itself has said that AAP is not needed if the conventional parties, BJP and Congress, do not loot. Your lines above describe AAP's thought process -- it is easy to develop this country with all its resources if it is managed with sincerity and will. However, in the real world, both parties have not shown that commitment. Today Congress looks horrible because of its unabashed loot over the last 10 years and BJP looks like Godsend. Modi has capitalised on this emotion. But BJP is equally bad (or at best, only slightly better) as Congress. Even if we assume that Modi is honest, BJP as a party is not. Why do you think they have invested over Rs 5,000 crore in these elections (that's just the media budget alone)? Is that because BJP wants to "serve the country"? You try investing just Rs 1 crore and see how jittery you will feel. You will have several questions like when will I get my investment, how much returns will I get, how can I maximise those returns. While BJP has been in the Centre for only one term, it has been in power in states several times. They have been in municipalities several times. What have they achieved till now there? Let's look at Gujarat as their "best" example where BJP and NaMo himself has been in the power for the last 15 years. Even if were to believe BJP's claims about Gujarat, and that's a big concession, Gujarat nowhere looks like Europe, America or even South Africa, Malaysia or such. In other words, it is not SIGNIFICANTLY better than the rest of India. There are dozens of parameters that show development. It is ahead of rest of India in some of them, like electricity and women's safety. But it is behind the rest of India in many others. Overall, Gujarat is more like an average state, or at best SLIGHTLY better.

Even there you don't know whether it is because of the BJP. For example, women's safety. Women in Gujarat have been safe for decades, even before NaMo came in power. They are safe in many other states too, like in Mumbai and many southern states. Talking about electricity, for a long time, the eastern region too had more than enough power for a long time. But see how bad their condition is.

There is NO state in India that has achieved the status of developed world. Today, almost 70 years after independence, a huge majority of our population in all states live in slums or slums like filthy conditions. And as you have already recognised, the only reason for that is that the political parties have only focused on their personal gains. 

If you remove the media spin and all the gloss, basically what BJP is saying that Congress looted the country for 10 years par ab hamaari baari hai. Ab kee bar Modi sarkaar.
